Missing People

Urban Search Canine Clinic

August 21-24, 2010

Boulder, Colorado

Missing versus Lost

The majority of people that go missing are those within large cities and municipal areas.  Most teams are trained for the technical requirements of searching for a lost person in the wilderness.  Searching in an urban environment takes additional training for dog teams.  The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimate that 2100 children do missing each day.  A missing person may be the victim of a crime, such as an abduction which requires a close working relationship with law enforcement.
